Audibility

The quality or condition of being able to be heard clearly; the degree to which sound can be perceived by the ear.

From Latin 'audibilis' (able to be heard) derived from 'audire' (to hear), plus -ity forming abstract nouns. The concept became formalized in acoustics and psychology.
