Avenida

A wide avenue or main street, especially used in Spanish-speaking cities and regions.

From Spanish and Portuguese 'avenida', derived from Latin 'advenire' (to arrive at, to come to). The word originally described roads where travelers arrived, and evolved to mean a major street or avenue.
