Beaches

Sandy or pebbly shores along the ocean; plural of beach, or to push a boat up onto the shore.

From Old English 'bæce' or similar, possibly from a Celtic root. The exact origin is unclear, but it's been used for coastal sandy areas since at least medieval times.
