Bessemerizing

The process of converting iron into steel using the Bessemer process, which involves blowing air through molten iron to remove impurities.

From the Bessemer process, named after English inventor Henry Bessemer (1813-1898) who patented this steel-making technique in 1856. The suffix '-izing' means to apply or convert using this method.
