Beterschap

A Dutch expression of sympathy, essentially wishing someone a 'speedy recovery' or 'better times ahead.'

Dutch 'beter' (better) plus 'schap' (related to 'shape' or 'hood'), literally meaning 'betterness.' It's the Dutch equivalent of German 'Besserung' and shows Germanic patterns of creating abstract nouns.
