Bilberry

A small, dark blue berry that grows wild on bushes in cool northern climates, similar to a blueberry but with a distinctive flavor.

From Old Norse 'bylgja' or related to 'bil,' referring to the berry itself. The word evolved through Middle English and has been used since at least the 15th century to describe this wild fruit.
