A ledge or shelf-like projection, or in skateboarding slang, a small ramp or feature you can jump on.

Origin uncertain; possibly from dialectal English or Scots. In modern usage, particularly in skateboarding and BMX communities, it became slang for a small ledge or obstacle to perform tricks on.
