Blacklight

/ˈblæk.laɪt/ noun

A lamp that emits ultraviolet light, making certain materials glow in the dark; used in nightclubs, forensics, and to detect scorpions.

From black (because it produces no visible light to the human eye, appearing dark) + light (electromagnetic radiation). The term emerged in the mid-20th century as UV technology became commercially available.
