Bombarde

An early type of cannon or large-bore firearm used in medieval and Renaissance warfare, typically made of bronze.

From Old French 'bombarde', possibly from 'bombe' (bomb) combined with Germanic elements, or from Latin 'bombarda' describing early explosive weapons that made booming sounds.
