Boxers

Plural of boxer; people who participate in the sport of boxing, or loose-fitting underwear shorts, or a breed of medium-sized dog.

Multiple origins: the fighter sense comes from 'box' meaning to fight with fists (origin uncertain, possibly from Greek pyx meaning 'with clenched fist'); the underwear sense comes from their resemblance to boxing shorts; the dog breed was named for its tendency to 'box' with its front paws.
