A member of the Jewish socialist Bund party, which advocated for workers' rights and cultural autonomy in Eastern Europe.

From the Bund (Jewish socialist movement founded in Lithuania in 1897, from Yiddish 'Bund' meaning 'league'). Bundists fought for Jewish workers' rights without necessarily promoting Zionism or emigration.
