Camogie

An Irish team sport for women, similar to hurling but with modified rules, played with a wooden stick and small ball.

From Irish camogie, formed from camóg (the stick used in hurling) with a feminizing suffix. Created in the early 1900s as a specifically women's version of the male sport hurling.
