Capeskin

A fine, soft leather made from sheepskin or goatskin, traditionally produced in the Cape region and used for making gloves and clothing.

From 'Cape' (the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa, a major leather-producing region) plus 'skin.' The Cape became renowned for leather production in the colonial period.
