Casimiroa

A tropical American fruit tree (genus Casimiroa) that produces sweet, creamy fruits similar to avocados, also called white sapote.

Named after Casimiro Gómez Ortega, a Spanish botanist of the 18th century, following Linnaeus's convention of naming plants after scientists and patrons who advanced botanical knowledge.
