Caulosarc

In zoology, the basal portion or trunk of a crinoid (sea lily), from which the arms extend.

From Greek 'kaulos' (stem) + 'sarkos' (flesh). Applied specifically to crinoid anatomy to describe the fleshy stem-like body from which radial arms originate.
