Creatures from Greek mythology that are part human (upper body) and part horse (lower body).

From Greek 'kentauros,' possibly from 'kente' (to pierce) or connected to 'Thessaly' where wild horsemen tribes inspired the myth. The exact origin is debated by classicists.
