Chamaecyparis

A genus of evergreen coniferous trees commonly known as false cypress, native to North America and Asia, often used in landscaping.

From Greek 'chamae' (low, dwarf) and 'cyparis' (cypress tree). Despite the name, these aren't true cypresses but were named for their resemblance to actual cypress species.
