Chapstick

A small stick of waxy or oily substance applied to lips to moisturize them and prevent them from becoming dry or cracked.

From 'chap' (to crack, from Old English 'ceapan') + 'stick.' First trademarked as 'Chapstick' in 1912 as a brand name that became generic.
