Chickamauga

A major Civil War battle fought in Georgia in 1863, or the Cherokee people/language from whom the name derives.

From Cherokee, possibly from 'Tsikamahagi' or related words, the term may reference a place in Georgia's Chickamauga Valley. The battle site became one of the bloodiest engagements in the western theater of the American Civil War.
