A coach is a person who trains and guides others, especially in sports or skills. It can also mean a type of bus or an older kind of horse-drawn carriage.
“Coach” originally referred to a carriage, from Hungarian “kocsi (szekér),” meaning “wagon from Kocs,” a town in Hungary. By the 1800s, it was used for tutors who “carried” students toward exam success, then widened to sports and other training.
