Compute

To compute is to calculate or figure out a result using numbers or logical steps. It can be done mentally, by hand, or with machines.

From Latin 'computāre', 'to count, sum up', from 'com-' ('together') and 'putāre' ('to reckon, to settle'). The idea is bringing pieces of information together to reach a clear result.
