Cong

Short for Viet Cong, referring to communist guerrilla fighters in South Vietnam during the Vietnam War, or a Vietnamese surname.

From Vietnamese Việt Cộng, shortened form of Việt Nam Cộng Sản (Vietnamese Communist). The term was popularized during the Vietnam War era and entered English as both a proper noun and sometimes as a derogatory term.
