Corset

A corset is a tight-fitting piece of clothing worn around the torso to shape and support the body, often to make the waist look smaller.

It comes from Old French “corset,” a diminutive of “cors” meaning “body,” which comes from Latin “corpus” (body). So a corset is literally a ‘little body’ garment that reshapes the body itself.
