Curling

/ˈkɜɹlɪŋ/ verb

Forming something into a curved or spiral shape; or the winter sport where teams slide stones across ice.

From Middle English and Old English 'curl', possibly from Old French 'croller' (to turn). The sport 'curling' appeared in Scotland around the 1500s, named for the curved path the stones travel.
