Cyclops

In Greek mythology, a giant one-eyed monster or creature, or more generally, any creature or person with only one eye.

From Greek 'kyklos' (circle) plus 'ops' (eye), literally 'round-eyed.' The famous cyclops from Homer's 'Odyssey' was named Polyphemus, and they were said to be sons of Poseidon.
