Density independent

/ˈdɛnsəti ˌɪndɪˈpɛndənt/ adjective

Describing factors that affect populations regardless of population density, with the same proportional impact whether the population is large or small. These factors include natural disasters, climate events, and human activities.

From Latin 'densitas' (thickness) with prefix 'in-' (not) and 'dependent' from Latin 'dependere' (to hang from). The term was coined to contrast with density-dependent factors in population ecology.
