Dioecious

/daɪˈiːʃəs/ adjective

Having male and female reproductive organs on separate individual plants of the same species. This means some plants are entirely male while others are entirely female.

From Greek 'di' meaning two and 'oikos' meaning house, literally meaning 'two houses.' Also coined by Linnaeus to describe plants where male and female flowers occur on different individual plants.
