Energy

The strength or power that allows things to move, change, or do work. It can describe both physical power and a person’s liveliness or enthusiasm.

From French *énergie*, from Latin *energia*, from Greek *energeia* ('activity, operation'), from *energos* ('active'), from *en-* ('in') + *ergon* ('work'). It originally meant 'being in action.'
