Asking questions in a curious or investigative way; eager to learn or find out information.

From Old French 'enquerre,' derived from Latin 'inquirere' (in- + quaerere, 'to seek'). The '-ing' form shows active, ongoing curiosity. Over time it became the British spelling preference over 'inquiring.'
