A way into a place, such as a door, gate, or opening. It can also mean the act of coming into a place in a noticeable way.

Noun: from Old French *entrada* ('entry'), influenced by *enter*. Verb (to entrance: 'to charm') is from Old French *entrancer* ('to put into a trance'). They share spelling but come from different roots.
