Flam

A trick or deception; also a drumming technique where the drummer plays a quick grace note before the main beat.

Origin uncertain, possibly from Scandinavian languages or onomatopoetic (imitating the sound). In drumming, it appeared as jargon among percussionists in the 20th century.
