Frequency

Frequency is how often something happens during a certain period of time. In science, it can also mean how many waves, vibrations, or cycles occur each second.

From Latin “frequentia” meaning “a crowd or great number,” from “frequens” (crowded, repeated). It shifted from crowds of people to repeated events.
