Gooks

A deeply offensive racial slur used to demean people of East and Southeast Asian descent.

Origin disputed; possibly from Korean 'guk' (soup/stew), or from derogatory Japanese terms. Became a hateful term used by American servicemen in Korea and Vietnam. Remains a serious ethnic slur.
