Guillotine

/ˈɡɪlətiːn/ noun

A choking submission technique in grappling and MMA where the attacker wraps their arm around the opponent's neck from the front, applying pressure to the windpipe and carotid arteries.

Named after the French execution device invented by Dr. Joseph-Ignace Guillotin, due to the similar positioning and the technique's effectiveness at 'cutting off' blood flow to the brain.
