Histogram

/ˈhɪstəɡræm/ noun

A statistical graph that displays the distribution of numerical data by using bars of different heights to represent frequency or count within specific intervals.

From Greek 'histos' meaning web, mast, or anything set upright, combined with 'gramma' meaning drawing or writing. Coined in 1891 by statistician Karl Pearson to describe this vertical bar representation of data distribution.
