Homosexuals

/ˌhoʊməˈsɛkʃuəlz/ noun

Plural of homosexual; people who are sexually attracted to others of the same gender. Individuals whose romantic and sexual orientation is toward the same sex.

Coined in German as 'homosexual' in 1869 by Hungarian writer Karl-Maria Kertbeny, combining Greek 'homos' (same) and Latin 'sexualis' (sexual). The term was created as a scientific alternative to pejorative terms then in use.
