Most

Most means the greatest number or amount of something in a group. It can also be used as an adverb to form the superlative of many adjectives, like “most interesting.”

From Old English *mǣst*, the superlative form of *mā* “more,” related to German *meist* and Dutch *meest*. It ultimately comes from an ancient root meaning “great” or “large in amount.”
