Resent

/rɪˈzɛnt/ verb

To feel bitter or indignant about something, especially treatment perceived as unfair. To harbor feelings of ill will or anger about past events.

From French 'resentir' meaning 'to feel strongly', from Latin 're-' (again) and 'sentire' (to feel). Originally meant simply 'to feel' but developed the negative connotation of persistent bitter feeling.
