Saturate

/ˈsætʃəˌreɪt/ verb

To saturate something is to fill it completely so that it cannot hold any more, especially with liquid. It can also mean to flood an area, market, or mind with so much of something that there is no space left.

From Latin *saturatus*, past participle of *saturare* 'to fill, to sate', from *satur* 'full'. It carried the sense of complete filling into scientific and everyday use.
