Sing

To sing is to produce musical sounds with your voice, often following a tune or melody. People sing alone or with others for art, worship, or enjoyment.

“Sing” comes from Old English “singan,” meaning to sing or chant, from a Proto-Germanic root also found in German “singen.” The word is very old and has changed little in meaning. It is closely tied to poetry and storytelling traditions.
