Skilled

/skɪld/ adjective

Having the ability to do something well, usually because of training, practice, or natural talent. Skilled people can do tasks that are difficult for beginners.

“Skilled” comes from “skill,” which in Old Norse “skil” meant “distinction” or “understanding.” It originally had more to do with knowledge and judgment than physical ability. English expanded it to cover both mental and practical talents.
