Definition
A follower or believer in adiaphorism; a person who holds that certain matters are morally or spiritually neutral.
Etymology
From 'adiaphora' (morally indifferent matters) plus the suffix '-ite,' which forms agent nouns for followers of a doctrine or members of a group (similar to 'Hebraite' or 'Euchite').

Adiaphorites in the Reformation era tried to find middle ground in vicious religious conflicts by saying certain practices weren't 'essential' to faith—a reasonable compromise that both sides often rejected as compromising principles.
