Definition
The plural of adjacency; multiple instances or pairs of things that are next to each other or touching.
Etymology
From adjacency (itself from adjacent + -cy suffix) + -ies plural suffix. This follows the pattern of converting -y ending nouns to plural with -ies.
Kelly Says
In city planning, adjacencies matter hugely—putting a school next to a highway is bad planning, while placing it near a park is good, which is why urban designers think carefully about which adjacencies they create.
