Agathism

/ˈæɡəθɪzəm/ noun

Definition

The belief that all things tend toward ultimate good, even if the path there involves suffering; a philosophical stance that the end result of everything is positive.

Etymology

From Greek 'agathos' (good). Not blind optimism — agathism acknowledges that terrible things happen, but believes the arc of the universe bends toward goodness. A belief in ultimate, eventual good.

Kelly Says

Not 'everything is fine' — but 'everything will BE fine eventually.' Agathism says the universe is heading somewhere GOOD even when the path goes through darkness! It's hope with homework, optimism with honesty! 🌅💛
