Agnostical

/ægˈnɒstɪkəl/ adjective

Definition

Relating to or characteristic of agnosticism; claiming that religious or metaphysical truths cannot be known or proven.

Etymology

From agnostic (Greek a- 'without' + gnostic 'knowing') plus -al, originally coined by T.H. Huxley in 1869 to describe a philosophical position, not a religious one.

Kelly Says

Huxley invented 'agnostic' specifically to avoid the 'atheist' label—he wanted to say 'I don't know' rather than 'I don't believe,' which turned out to be a distinction billions of people needed.
