Definition
In a lively, spirited, or enthusiastic manner; with energetic movement or expression.
Etymology
From animated (adjective) + -ly (adverb suffix). Animated comes from animate (to give life to) + -ed. The root is Latin animatus, past participle of animare (to animate), from anima (soul, life).
Kelly Says
The adverb 'animatedly' perfectly captures how language reflects body language—when we say someone speaks 'animatedly,' we're describing not just their words but their physical presence, their energy, showing how language and embodiment intertwine.
