Definition
Relating to or having the nature of anomalies; anomalistic (an older or more formal variant of the same meaning).
Etymology
From anomalistic with the additional suffix -al, creating an older or more elaborate adjectival form. This redundant construction was common in earlier scientific and philosophical writing from the 17th-18th centuries.

Language lovers will notice this word shows how English loved piling on suffixes—'anomalistical' is more old-fashioned than 'anomalistic,' but they mean the same thing, like fashion cycles in words!
