Anticynical

/ˌæntɪˈsɪnɪkəl/ adjective

Definition

Opposing or rejecting cynicism; characterized by belief in human goodness and the value of sincerity.

Etymology

From anti- + cynical (the adjective form of cynic). Cynical comes from Greek 'kynikos' through Latin. This form emerged to describe attitudes and perspectives that resist cynical worldviews.

Kelly Says

Anticynical people are the ones who still write thank-you notes, believe in second chances, and think people are mostly good—which science actually backs up: humans have more empathy and cooperation instincts than pure cynicism suggests!
