Etymology
From anti- + rebating (present participle of rebate, from Old French rebattre, meaning to beat back). A modern commercial/regulatory term.

Antirebating laws actually protect insurance and pharmaceutical companies from being undercut by rebates, but consumer advocates often oppose them because antirebating rules can mean customers pay full price instead of getting discounts.
