Definition
Lacking heat or warmth; not producing or transmitting heat; thermally inactive.
Etymology
From a- (without) plus the Greek therme (heat), meaning literally 'without heat.' The suffix -ous creates an adjective form.
Kelly Says
An athermous object is one that doesn't absorb or emit heat—like certain specialized laboratory materials or spaces designed to be thermally invisible, which scientists use to test equipment without thermal interference.
